Maze Park Escape

Play Maze Park Escape

About the game

Maze Park Escape is a memory puzzle: study a quick map preview, then walk through a park maze in first-person view to find the exit. The entrance is at the top center of the map and the EXIT is at the bottom center, and a fresh maze is generated every game. Landmarks at the junctions, such as fountains, trees, flowers and benches, help you find your way. There are three difficulties: Kids (7×7, 10-second preview, 3-minute limit), Normal (11×11, 7 seconds, 2:30) and Challenge (15×15, 5 seconds, 2 minutes).

How to play

  • N / E / S / W buttons at the bottom: move one tile in that compass direction (works with touch and mouse).
  • Center "Go" button: step one tile in the direction you're currently facing.
  • Keyboard arrow keys ↑ ↓ ← → or W A S D: move north, south, west and east.
  • "View Map" (+10 s) / "My Position" (+20 s) buttons: show the map again for 2 seconds; close it early with the close button.
  • On the map preview screen, tap "Start" to skip the countdown once you've memorized the route.

Tips

  • Direction buttons and arrow keys use compass directions, not the way you're facing. North is the top of the map, so keep an eye on the on-screen compass.
  • The exit is always at the bottom (south) center, opposite the entrance. When studying the preview, trace the route backward from the exit.
  • Rather than memorizing every corridor, pair landmarks with turns, like "east at the fountain, south at the bench".
  • Each wall bump adds 0.5 seconds to your final time and lowers your score, so don't mash buttons into dead ends.
  • If you're completely lost, "My Position" (+20 s) can actually save more time than "View Map" (+10 s), even though it costs more.

FAQ

Is it free? Do I need to install anything?

It's free and runs in your web browser with no installation. On phones you use the on-screen direction buttons; on a computer you can use the arrow keys or WASD.

How are score and grade decided?

Your final time is the actual time plus penalties: 10 s per map view, 20 s per position view and 0.5 s per wall bump. The score starts at 10,000 and drops with your final time, map views and wall bumps. Finishing within 70 seconds without any map views earns an S grade, followed by A, B and C.

What happens when time runs out?

When the remaining time hits zero, the run ends as a failed escape with 0 points. Each map view immediately subtracts its penalty from the remaining time, but the timer pauses while the map is on screen.

Are my records saved?

Yes. Your best score and best (fastest) time for each difficulty are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on the same device and browser and are reset if you clear your browser data.
