Maze Escape
About the game
Maze Escape is a puzzle game where you guide a rabbit to the goal flag before the tiger catches it. There are 66 levels that grow from 9×9 to 21×21, and clearing a level unlocks the next one. You must reach the goal before time runs out; coins raise your score, while traps make things harder.
How to play
- Desktop: arrow keys (← ↑ → ↓) move one tile at a time
- Mobile: tap the ↑ ↓ ← → buttons below the maze to move one tile
- Mobile: swipe up, down, left or right on the maze to move one tile in that direction
- On the level select screen, pick an unlocked level and press the start button
- Use the button at the top to mute or unmute sound
Tips
- The tiger waits for a moment after the start, so use that head start to get away. At higher levels the wait gets shorter and the tiger moves faster.
- Stepping on a trap costs 20 points and 3 seconds and also summons an extra tiger, so avoid traps at all costs.
- Coins are worth +20 each, but big detours cut your efficiency bonus, so only grab coins close to your route.
- Every move beyond the shortest path lowers the efficiency bonus (up to 100 points) by 5.
- Each second left on the clock adds 3 points, so the faster you finish, the higher your score.
FAQ
Is it free? Do I need to install anything?
It's free and plays right in your browser with no installation, on both desktop and mobile.
How is the score calculated?
When you reach the goal you get a base 100 points, plus 3 per second left, 20 per coin and an efficiency bonus of up to 100, minus 20 per trap. Getting caught or running out of time scores 0.
When is it game over?
If the tiger reaches your tile or you walk into the tiger, you're caught. The game also ends when the timer (40 to 124 seconds depending on maze size) hits zero.
Is my progress saved?
Cleared levels and your best score for each level are saved in your browser's localStorage, so you can pick up where you left off. Clearing browser data resets them.
